Downtown Phoenix is not the closest base for the WM Phoenix Open.
It can still make sense if the golf tournament is only one part of a larger trip.
Downtown puts you near attractions and venues such as the Phoenix Convention Center, Footprint Center and Chase Field. It also gives you access to Valley Metro Rail for other parts of your itinerary.
However, Valley Metro Rail does not run directly to TPC Scottsdale.
A visitor staying Downtown should expect to use a car, rideshare or another transportation arrangement to reach the tournament.

The Coors Light Birds Nest runs Wednesday through Saturday during WM Phoenix Open week and is located next to the tournament area. It is a 21-and-over event.
